Northfield Town FC

Club History

Although Northfield Town F.C. came into being in 1966, its origins go back to the early 1950's. After spells in the Kings Norton League, Warwickshire & West Midlands Alliance and the Mercian League, they joined the Combination in 1957 (then the Worcestershire Combination). Playing under the name of ALLENS CROSS they won the League Challenge Cup in their first year and the League Championship in 1961/62. Following amalgamation with another successful local side, CASTLE ROVERS, we played briefly as CROSS CASTLE UTD before adopting our present title of NORTHFIELD TOWN.

Since this name change the success of the Club over all these years is testament to the work of former Chairman ERIC ROUGH who sadly passed away in 2003. He alone was instrumental in helping many young men to progress through the footballing ranks into all higher grades of football from Semi Professional to Full Internationals.

The Club is Community and Youth based, serving the local young people of South West Birmingham. Since 1966 we are pleased to record the achievements shown in the Honours list below.
